Thoughts:

I am loving Audio… I love a book that reminds you of your uniqueness, your strength, and that it is only YOU who has the power to change the things you desire to change.

Jen Sincero state, “What other people think about you has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.” I’m an Enneagram 9w1, a people pleaser, someone who has always been able to put others needs above my own to make sure everyone else is happy, then overthinks every single action and word I’ve said to others throughout the day to make sure nothing I said or did during the day may have been taken the wrong way. It’s exhausting.

Then I listened to this book, and it made so many lightbulbs go off in my head… I will never be able to please everyone, and I’m spending so much time pleasing others, that I’m not using my time to chase the things that actually make me happy. I’m not using my time to pursue my own dreams, and then this book reminded me that only I hold the power to change my Life. Nobody is going to do it for me, yet I can love myself along the way. I can take that energy I spend full of worry, and channel it into the vision I have for my future. I can have the Life I envision for myself and my family, but then I am going to have to stop worrying about what others are going to think along the way. Yes, this sounds basic, but for someone like me, this book was refreshing, motivating, and spot on with what I need to let go of, and what I need to seek more of. Great listen (or read) if you need a pick-me up, kick in the pants, motivational book.
