Book Description:

Maddie and Theo have two things in common:

1. Alexa is their best friend 2. They hate each other After an “oops, we made a mistake” night together, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa’s wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they’re comfortable with. Underneath the sharp barbs they toss at each other is a simmering attraction that won’t fade. It builds until they find themselves sneaking off together to release some tension when Alexa isn’t looking, agreeing they would end it once the wedding is over. When it’s suddenly pushed up and they only have a few months left of secret rendezvouses, they find themselves regretting that the end is near. Two people this different can’t possibly have a connection other than the purely physical, right?

But as with any engagement with a nemesis, there are unspoken rules that must be abided by. First and foremost, don’t fall in love.

Thoughts:

I love this light hearted series! This may have been one of my favorites in the series so far, although I really loved #theproposal. My favorite thing I enjoy is the continuous growth of characters, and that the same characters keep reappearing (it’s wedding time for Alexa and Drew). It makes me feel like I am part of their inner circle. I also enjoy the way the characters balance each other out (in pretty much all of the books so far), but the level of vulnerability Maddie and Theo show the other.

You have two strong personalities, agreeing to hide their relationship from their mutual best friend – and also end their relationship after they are done with their wedding duties, only to think they won’t develop feelings for one another by the time Alexa’s Wedding over. Yeah, right?! 😊 This plays out as expected with the rest of the series, but was exactly what I was looking for and provided the humor and light-hearted book I needed.
