Book Description:

From the author of It’s Always the Husbandcomes a riveting new suspense novel about privilege, power, and what happens when we let ambition take control.

For Rose Enright, enrolling in a prestigious New England boarding school is the opportunity of a lifetime. But for Rose’s vulnerable twin sister Bel, Odell Academy is a place of temptation and danger. When Bel falls in with a crowd of wild rich kids who pressure her into hazing Rose, the sisters’ relationship is shattered. Rose turns to her dorm mother, Sarah Donovan, for advice. But Bel turns to Sarah’s husband Heath, a charismatic and ambitious teacher. Is Heath trying to help Bel or take advantage of her? In a world of privilege, seduction, and manipulation, only one sister will live to tell the truth.

In a novel full of twists, turns, and dark secrets, Michele Campbell once again proves her skill at crafting intricately spun and completely compelling plots.

Thoughts:

I LOVED It’s Always the Husband, and this has been on my TBR for awhile and I finally caved and did the audio… I flew through this one too!!!

Clearly, I loved this book. I enjoy a book split into two parts: 1) Building up to who died 2) The unraveling of who may have killed her

Bell and Rose are twins who attend boarding school after their mom passes away and take extremely different paths once they arrive. Rose is determined to make the most of her studies, while Bell will do anything she can to fit in. Throw in a good Senior Challenge to sleep with the dorm head, and you have the great makings of a mystery with a number of suspects.

This book moved quickly, was told from a variety of perspectives and was filled with drama. It’s a slightly lower rating as I found the suspect predictable, but loved how the story played out and the twists and turns along the way. @michelecampbellbooks has become an automatic read for me, and this one does not disappoint!
