Book Description:
People don’t just disappear without a trace…
Shelby Tebow is the first to go missing. Not long after, Meredith Dickey and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen, striking fear into their once-peaceful community. Are these incidents connected? After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold.
Now, eleven years later, Delilah shockingly returns. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they’ll find…
Thoughts:
I have mixed thoughts on this for reasons I can’t say, due to completely spoiling some surprises, so I’m going to keep this review a bit short.
I loved the idea and premise of this book. I love chapters told from different character POVs to put together the story. I love missing people and mysteries, so I tend to have a high bar for this genre (and #thegoodgirl is still my absolute favorites of hers as the ending there was 🤯), so that being said, this was a good story about two missing women and a child, who go missing 11 years ago, when Delilah returns, BUT, you have to get through the first 50 pages. The chapter on Delilah almost lost me, as it could have been 10-15 pages shorter (IMO). Once the book picks up, I enjoyed it and liked some of the twists, although was left wanting more and felt slightly let down. It was a quick read and I still recommend reading it.
