Book Description:
Tracy Crosswhite returns in the second book in the page-turning series by New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni.
Homicide detective Tracy Crosswhite has returned to the police force after the sensational retrial of her sister’s killer. Still scarred from that ordeal, Tracy is pulled into an investigation that threatens to end her career, if not her life.
A serial killer known as the Cowboy is killing young women in cheap motels in North Seattle. Even after a stalker leaves a menacing message for Crosswhite, suggesting the killer or a copycat could be targeting her personally, she is charged with bringing the murderer to justice. With clues scarce and more victims dying, Tracy realizes the key to solving the murders may lie in a decade-old homicide investigation that others, including her captain, Johnny Nolasco, would prefer to keep buried. With the Cowboy on the hunt, can Tracy find the evidence to stop him, or will she become his next victim?
Thoughts:
Obsessed. Absolutely obsessed with the Tracy Crosswhite Series and so glad to have found a strong female detective who handles incredible cases.
I love that this book picks up shortly after #mysistersgrave ends. This book continues the Nicole Hansen case Tracy was working on when Sarah’s body had been discovered and she went back home to Cedar Grove. The killer has struck again and has been named The Cowboy, and she’s on the hunt to capture him before any more women die. Did I mention she’s also being stalked??? Remember the truck she spotted a few times on My Sister’s Grave – you get those answers, as well.
I cannot say enough good things about this series so far, I know I’m only two books in, but I’m loving the mystery, suspense, short chapters, how it ties back to the first book and is overall, absolutely fantastic! If you like a good murder mystery series, I’m highly recommending the #tracycrosswhiteseries. I can’t put these books down and am having a hard time reading anything else. Moving these up on the TBR list (and may have just purchased a few more).
