Thoughts:

This book was a very easy-to-read book. It read similar to a manual, and I liked the ability to jump around if needed. It offers not only valuable information on the stages of grief, but it also offers two “new” stages referred to as “Transformation” and “Purpose.” How do you change your heartache into something manageable? How can you remember the loss of your loved one in a positive and healthy way? Then this is the book for you. Not only does it discuss how you can channel your pain into a larger calling, but there were also some different perspectives on holistic ways to heal.

As I said, it reads as a manual, so you can jump ahead to the portion you may feel you are “stuck” in, or that you need information on, or you can read about Kayla’s journey and open your eyes to other ways of healing. Grief is a nasty beast. It is terrible, awful, sad and at times, it can suck the life out of you… But the thing is, life is meant to be lived, and this book comes full circle on how to get back to living, while still acknowledging the grief you will forever carry without your loved one(s) with you.

If you, or a loved one, are struggling with the loss of someone and opened to alternative ways to heal, this is a great book for you.
